| Sessions are designed to meet the individual needs of students and are scheduled as regular tutoring sessions on a customer need basis. You can simply choose to pay full one-to-one price, or choose an open session for a discounted rate in which your child will be tutored with a teacher student ratio that can range from 1:1 to 1:3. If you choose to be tutored in your home, and know another student with similar academic needs, you can partner and be tutored together at a discounted rate. |

| The Tutor Advantage - What's the difference? In learning centers, like Sylvan and Huntington, where the teacher to student ratio is 1:3 or even 1:4, each student has an individual program, so it amounts to getting a one-on-one tutor for a third or a fourth of the time. These programs must depend on worksheets and independent skills practice at a computer so each student can be working on the individual skills he is supposed to master in his own program. What makes The Tutor Advantage small groups and classes different? We use homogeneous skill grouping, so our quality of instruction approaches that of any one-on-one or two-on-one tutoring program. In our program, all students are appropriately grouped to study the same material at the same time. This is also more advantageous than classroom learning with 20 or 30 students. Our classes have a maximum enrollment of six students and we group by student level. Even when in the same grade at school, students are at varying levels of ability and understanding. We also offer one-to-one instruction at a lower rate than most centers charge for one-to-four. See Price Comparison Chart |
