The Parent-Tutor Advantage

The Parent-Tutor Advantage Program is a unique service offered by Academic Consulting
and Tutoring Services in Melbourne, FL.  The Tutor Advantage is a program of individual,
small group, and class instruction designed to challenge students to reach their full
learning potential and achieve an academic advantage.  Tutoring is a great option for many
parents wanting to improve their child's learning ability whether to improve weak skill areas
or to enrich an already adequate education.

BUT - There are parents who ask, "What can I do?" because they
can't afford tutoring services or because they want to be able to
help their children themselves.  Trained tutors can work with
students for a limited time each week.  Parents, on the other hand,
can work with their children DAILY.  Tutors CARE about their
students and want the best for them.  Parents LOVE their
children and demand the best for them!

The Parent Advantage Program is the Answer!
After an initial Parent-Tutor meeting, we will set up a schedule to meet once a week with the student and parent
together.  You can either bring the materials the student is working on in school, or set up a curriculum with our
    assistance.

Our After-school or home-school curriculum will be designed to meet your child's individual needs.
  • The first step will be to assess those needs and draw up a plan of action.  Then we will put together a
package of materials required to carry out the educational objectives of our plan.
  • At the weekly sessions, the parent will learn the material alongside his or her child, and will learn
instructional techniques through the modeling of the tutor.
  • During the week, between sessions, the parent will tutor the child at home.  Home-tutoring will be planned to
take place at set times during the week for consistency which helps to ensure student success.
  • Your Tutor will be available to assist you during the week, by telephone, email, or online messaging/chat.

BUT - Many parents do not have the educational background, knowledge of techniques
and curriculum, or the necessary skills to confidently teach (or help their child learn)
    required academic skills.
