program may be developed for remedial students and weekly meetings
may be sufficient for a supplemental program for gifted and above
average students.
The length of the tutoring relationship depends on the student's needs
and the parent's expectations. If a short term goal of catching up in
math, for example, is all that is sought, the goal may be met in just a
few weeks of tutoring. If an overall improvement in learning ability is
desired, a year-long relationship may be necessary.
I do not require a contract promising a minimum number of sessions,
but I may make contractual agreements with students regarding
homework assignments, attending sessions, being on time and
prepared to work, and achieving goals or objectives. Relationship
length depends on student needs, but also on student success. An
estimate of the expected time needed to meet goals can be made - but
students are free to continue their learning on their own as soon as
they are able. Follow up for these students will also be made available.
My prices vary by service. A base of $30.00 per hour for individual
sessions at my location is the starting point. I am available to meet at
your home or your choice of location for $35.00 per hour within a 10
mile radius. Small group classes are also available at a reduced rate.
My cancellation policy:
If you are unable to keep an appointment or attend a scheduled
session for any reason, you must call to cancel at least 24 hours prior
to appointment or scheduled session time. If you fail to call the day
before, you will be charged for the session. (Emergencies excepted)
If you wish to stop tutoring for any reason, I ask that you notify me one
week before your last session. Payment is made either weekly (for
individual) or monthly (for small groups) and sessions are pre-paid. No
refunds will be given.
